1. Definitions & Scope

1.1. Unlimited Suriname Tours N.V., hereinafter referred to as “UST”, is a company tour registered in the Republic of Suriname.

1.4. These General Terms & Conditions apply to all offers, bookings and agreements concluded with UST, unless explicitly agreed otherwise in writing.

2. Role of Unlimited Suriname Tours N.V.

2.1. UST may act either as:

  • the organizer of tours and activities; or

  • an intermediary between the traveler and third-party service providers (such as lodges, boat operators, airlines, helicopter operators or guides).
2.2. When acting as an intermediary, UST is not responsible for the execution of services provided by third parties and their terms and conditions may apply in addition to or instead of these Terms.

3. Booking & Confirmation

3.1. A booking is only considered final after receipt of the required deposit or full payment, as communicated by UST.
3.2. UST reserves the right to refuse a booking without stating reasons.
3.3. Group bookings are binding for all participants listed by the main booker.

4. Payments

4.1. A deposit of seventy-five percent (75%) of the total booking amount is required to confirm a reservation, unless explicitly stated otherwise by UST in writing.

4.2. The remaining balance must be paid no later than seven (7) days before departure, unless otherwise agreed.

4.3. For last-minute bookings made within seven (7) days prior to departure, full payment of the total booking amount is required immediately upon confirmation.

4.4. Payments may be made using the payment methods offered by UST, including but not limited to cash, credit card, bank transfer, or other electronic payment methods as communicated at the time of booking.

4.5. The availability of specific payment methods may vary depending on location, currency, service provider or operational circumstances. UST cannot guarantee the availability of all payment methods at all times.

4.6. All transaction-related costs, including but not limited to bank fees, POS charges, credit card fees, international transfer costs, currency conversion differences and any charges applied after payment, are fully borne by the traveler.

4.7. If transaction-related costs are charged to UST after payment has been processed, UST reserves the right to invoice such costs separately. Any shortfall between the invoiced amount and the net amount received by UST remains payable by the traveler upon first request.

5. Prices & Program Changes

5.1. All prices are subject to change due to circumstances beyond UST’s control, including fuel costs, taxes, weather conditions or operational constraints.
5.2. UST reserves the right to modify itineraries, routes, accommodations or activities when necessary for safety, operational or environmental reasons.
5.3. Minor program changes do not entitle the traveler to compensation or refund.

6. Cancellation by the Traveler

6.1. Cancellations must be submitted in writing.
6.2. The following cancellation fees apply to the total booking amount:

  • Cancellation within 10 days before departure: no refund

  • Cancellation between 11–20 days before departure: 25% refund

  • Cancellation between 21–30 days before departure: 45% refund

  • Cancellation more than 30 days before departure: full refund minus 10% administration fee

6.3. If UST acts as an intermediary, the cancellation terms of the relevant third-party service provider shall apply first.

7. Cancellation or Modification by UST

7.1. UST may cancel or modify a tour due to insufficient participants, force majeure, safety concerns (e.g. bad weather) or unforeseen circumstances.
7.2. In such cases, UST will offer an alternative or refund paid amounts where applicable, excluding non-refundable third-party costs.

8. Force Majeure & Weather Conditions

8.1. Force majeure includes but is not limited to extreme weather, floods, river conditions, natural disasters, political unrest, strikes, technical failures and safety risks.
8.2. Tours in Suriname operate in natural environments; weather-related changes do not automatically constitute grounds for refunds.

9. Obligations & Conduct of the Traveler

9.1. Travelers must follow instructions given by UST staff, guides, or third-party operators (drivers, hotel/resort/lodges staff).
9.2. Disruptive, unsafe or disrespectful behavior may result in exclusion from the tour without refund.
9.3. Travelers are responsible for their personal belongings at all times.

10. Health, Safety & Insurance

10.1. Travelers are strongly advised to obtain adequate travel, medical and cancellation insurance.
10.2. Travelers are responsible for assessing their own physical and mental fitness to participate in activities.
10.3. Travelers are solely responsible for informing UST in advance of any medical conditions, allergies, dietary restrictions or special requirements.
10.4. In particular, travelers must actively communicate and verify any food-related allergies or dietary needs. UST and its service providers cannot be held liable for adverse reactions resulting from incomplete, late or incorrect information provided by the traveler.

11. Liability & Limitation of Liability

11.1. Participation in tours and activities is at the traveler’s own risk.
11.2. UST is not liable for injury, illness, loss, damage or delay unless caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct by UST.
11.3. UST’s liability is limited to the amount paid for the relevant service, except in cases involving death or personal injury where liability cannot be excluded by law.

  • boat transport

  • jungle hikes

  • helicopter flights

12.2. By booking and participating, travelers acknowledge and accept these risks.
12.3. Swimming is entirely at the traveler’s own risk; UST accepts no liability for drowning or related incidents.

13. Third-Party Services & Transport

13.1. UST acts as an intermediary for charter flights, helicopters, boats and accommodations operated by third parties.
13.2. UST is not liable for delays, cancellations, accidents, baggage loss or operational failures caused by third parties.

14. Images, Media & Privacy

14.1. Travelers grant UST permission to use photos and videos taken during tours for promotional purposes unless stated otherwise in writing.
14.2. Personal data is handled in accordance with Surinamese privacy regulations and used solely for operational purposes.

15. Complaints Procedure

15.1. Any complaints regarding the execution of the agreement or the services provided must be reported immediately and on-site to the UST representative, guide or relevant service provider, in order to allow UST the opportunity to offer a timely and appropriate solution.

15.2. If the complaint is not resolved satisfactorily on-site and materially affects the quality of the tour or service, the traveler must report the complaint without delay to UST, either directly or through the tour leader or representative.

15.3. If a complaint cannot be adequately resolved on-site, UST will provide the traveler with the opportunity to formally register the complaint in the form of a complaint report, where applicable.

15.4. Travelers are required to follow the complaint reporting procedure as communicated by UST, including providing relevant details, documentation and cooperation necessary to assess and resolve the complaint.

15.5. Failure to report a complaint promptly and in accordance with the prescribed procedure may result in UST and/or the service provider being deprived of the opportunity to remedy the issue. In such cases, any right to compensation or refund may be partially or fully forfeited.

15.6. Complaints submitted after completion of the tour or service must be submitted in writing to UST no later than thirty (30) days after the end of the tour, service, or the original departure date if the tour did not take place.

15.7. Complaints relating to the conclusion of the agreement must be submitted in writing as soon as reasonably possible, but no later than thirty (30) days after the traveler became aware, or reasonably should have become aware, of the facts giving rise to the complaint.

15.8. UST will provide a substantive written response to a properly submitted complaint within a reasonable period, and no later than thirty (30) days after receipt of the complaint.

15.9. If the traveler fails to submit a complaint within the stated time limits, the complaint may not be processed, unless the traveler can reasonably demonstrate that the delay was not attributable to them.
