This journey takes you deep into Suriname’s Amazon rainforest to the indigenous village of Palumeu, along the Upper Tapanahony River. It offers a meaningful cultural and nature-based experience with the Wayana and Trio tribes. Guests explore the untouched rainforest, enjoy scenic flights, and participate in traditional activities with local communities.
The day starts with a scenic domestic flight over Suriname’s interior. Upon arrival in Palumeu, guests travel to Palawa Island for lunch and swimming. In the afternoon, they receive a cultural introduction to the Wayana and Trio tribes and enjoy a dinner featuring local dishes.
After breakfast, the group travels by boat to a quiet riverbank and then treks through the jungle to a granite mountain. From the summit, panoramic views of the rainforest await. Guests return for an archery workshop led by local tribespeople. In the evening, a river trip allows for bird and caiman spotting.

Spend the morning with your guide exploring the beautiful surroundings, where you’ll learn about the unique flora and fauna of the rainforest. In the afternoon, the program is open for you to plan your own activities.
After breakfast, you’ll journey by dugout canoe to the nearby Amerindian village of Palumeu. Here you’ll have the chance to meet the locals and purchase traditional souvenirs, handcrafted by the community. Following lunch, you will board your return flight to Paramaribo, carrying unforgettable memories of the rainforest with you.
