Tour description

This 2 or 3 day tour takes you to the east coast of Suriname, where guests can a feeling in the lives of the only coastal indigenous community, enjoy beautiful beach landscapes, and may witness sea turtles nesting during the season from February to July. It includes cultural immersion, a scenic boat trip along the Marowijne River, and a visit to French Guiana. Basic, yet comfortable accommodations in Galibi offer a relaxing base for this unforgettable experience.

Tour Program

Day 1 

Departure in the early morning from Paramaribo. On a scenic bus ride along the East-West connection that leads to Albina. Upon arrival, guests board a boat for a two-hour boat ride to Christiaankondré. After lunch at the lodge, a guided village walk introduces guests to the local indigenous culture. Dinner follows, and during turtle nesting season, guests can join a nighttime excursion to observe sea turtles laying eggs on the beach.

Day 2 

After a guided beach walk and optional swim, guests enjoy breakfast before departing by boat back to Albina. On the return, there is a stop in Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni with the option to visit the historical prison (bagno). After lunch in Albina, the group travels back to Paramaribo, with arrival expected late afternoon. 

Day 3 

Guests choosing for the 3-day package enjoy a free day after breakfast. Activities may include swimming, a visit to the tiger sandbank, and a cultural show (available for groups of 8+). The next day follows the same return itinerary as the 2-day tour
