With over 700 recorded species and vast tracts of undisturbed forest, wetland, and savannah, Suriname offers some of the most rewarding birdwatching in South America. And the best of it is never far from Paramaribo. Our birding tours are guided by experienced local naturalists who know exactly where to look and when. Whether you’re a seasoned birder ticking lifers or simply someone who wants to experience the astonishing diversity of Surinamese wildlife up close, these routes are built for you.
Each tour covers a distinct habitat; coastal mudflats, old plantation forest, open savannah, and dense swamp forest. All tours depart from Paramaribo and include a certified bird guide, transport, and entrance fees.
